Join outdoor guide Shay in reconnecting with yourself and nature while also learning practical skills to empower you in hiking, camping, and exploring the outdoors. Leave behind the hustle and bustle of your life as I guide you on a mindful hike while enlivening your creativity. Nature is our best teacher for connecting to our internal knowing and creativity.
You will have the time to set intentions, participate in a guided meditation, and create an art-in-nature activity. You will get a chance to compassionately witness your own experience and the experiences of those alongside you. The end of the hike will involve an informational session from a Wilderness EMT professional (and owner of UOUoutdoors) on first aid, safety, and other practical tips to better empower and prepare you for your own adventures.
In nature we get the opportunity to see things with pure, unfiltered eyes, and making art in nature allows you to access a child-like ease and curiosity. Combining these activities are food for the soul! You will gain the benefits of recharging your soul’s need for play and introspection while you are taught to pause any repetitive thoughts, self judgement, or constant need to work while working on your inner self.
"The future will belong to the nature-smart—those individuals, families, businesses, and political leaders who develop a deeper understanding of the transformative power of the natural world and who balance the virtual with the real. The more high-tech we become, the more nature we need." -Richard Louv
